I only had six kilos to lose, which I did, but for the first time in my life I have managed to wean myself off sugar. It's been about 4 weeks since my last chocolate (a small freddo) and about 4 months since I last ate any ice cream, cake or lollies. I just don't want it, it's fantastic. This his led to an unexpected positive for me. I'm a swimmer, at the moment I train twice a week and compete in local open water comps (I'm training for the Rottnest Channel swim next year). I had lost motivation for my swimming for about two years, but once my body was sugar free the energy I had was unbelievable. I'm no longer sluggish and heavy in the water. I am feeling so fit and strong now, I've even joined a local Aussie Masters club and just keep getting fitter. I've just signed up for my first pool comp since I was 17, but it all goes back to getting myself on your program. I followed your swimming career for a long time so it seems apt that you can take some of the credit for my getting back in the water.
