Where is the start button?
Can my husband do your program too? He works physically hard all day. Is this enough food for him to eat or do I need to add a few more snacks?
Yes! The whole family can participate. If your husband works hard all day but he wants to lose weight, he can double the quantity of all meals up until dinner. If your husband works hard all day and doesn’t need to lose weight, he can double all portions of all meals. The most important thing for your husband is to be organized, and take his healthy food and snacks to work with him so he is not tempted by the pie and chip van at smoko…he may even inspire his work mates!
Add brown rice, wholemeal wraps, wholemeal pasta and grain breads to his meals.
The same goes for active teenagers.
Do I click on "Start Now" button on the actual day I start or can you do it a few days prior? I am starting next Monday?
Your weekly program will start when you fill in the START NOW form on your preparation page. To do this, click on the START NOW button from your profile page, read through the preparation guide and then fill in the form. You will receive YOUR Week 1 email that day, and then Week 2 in one week following this date. You can register for the program and start the program on different dates. You will receive a preparation guide that helps you get started on the program before you actually hit START!
Does your 10 wk program cater for people who cannot eat certain foods. I cannot have dairy & wheat and pretty much anything processed, due to stomach problems?
I am interested in how the program actually works….are there weekly weigh-ins, do we record food & exercise?
There is a KiSS workbook for you to print and fill in at week 1,5, 10 and 20. Here you can log your measurements, weight, feelings and include your before and after pictures. As most people are losing between 6 – 12 kilos in 10 weeks, as much as they may not have liked taking their “before” pictures, they are so happy to see their “after” pictures….the new YOU! Hooray.
There is a nutrition log to print and fill in to put on your fridge. You will be able to tick the meals as you follow the plan. The idea is to have lots of ticks on your page!! You will find this in each weeks eating plan.
I have been going through menopause for years and gained a huge amount of weight. Will your 10 week program help me?
Yes, this 10 week eating plan helps to cleanse, detox and rebalance your hormones, pH and oxidation levels. You will find as your body releases excess toxic fat, you will start to feel much better and lean up. To read more about your hormones, go to www.happyhormones.com.au
I have had severe knee injuries and this has reduced my capacity to run and kneel. Is your exercise program suitable or adaptable for someone in my situation?
All the exercises are completed from home and do not use any equipment. You will need to adapt some of the exercises to suit your condition. For example, walk hills instead of running, sit instead of kneel. There are currently two double lower amputees who have completed the KiSS program and lost 8kg each. Do what you can, but remember that the nutrition has more to do with health and weight loss than the exercise. Food is absolutely the key!
You may also like to purchase the KiSS 10 week SWiM program, 30 different swim programs printed on water proof paper so you can have your program on the side of the pool with you. This program gets mailed to you. You will find it in the KiSS online shop.
I have small children, and don’t have time to go to the gym, what can I do?
This program is perfect for you as it can all be done from home while kids are sleeping or playing. They can even join in with you for some of it, or count up to 10 for you! Time is important for busy mums, I understand this, and it’s one of the reasons why I wrote time efficient exercise workouts that burn maximum calories in minimum time.
I really need help with my 11 yo daughter, she is overweight and it’s breaking my heart. Obesity is an issue in my family. I love my baby, can your program help children?
This program can definitely help kids too. Australia has an obesity problem affecting children as well as adults. The eating plan consists of clean, simple, real, healthy foods. Any foods kids don’t like can be substituted for foods they do like from the Nutrition Guide. Busy or active teenagers may need to double breakfast and lunch for the extra energy. You can also add brown rice, wholemeal wraps and grain breads for school lunch boxes.
Make sure you take your children outside to play. Ride a bike with them, play ball, take them to run in a park or the beach. Kids love playing with parents and it's great for your own relaxation, even if you've had a big day at work! Once you are out the door, you will enjoy it. Getting out the door is the hardest part!
I’m a vegetarian, does this diet cater for my needs?
The 10 week eating plan does have protein as a main meal component. There are options given for vegetarians in the Food For Life Guide. Substitute foods you can't eat with those you know you can eat. Protein is an important part of weight loss. You can always add protein powder to meals instead of protein options.
If you can't eat eggs, meat, chicken, fish... you may need to find another program that caters specifically for vegetarians.
I’m breast feeding – will I be able to start this program? I’m keen to start exercising but wondering if the diet is ok for me?
The eating plan is healthy, fresh, and perfect for a breastfeeding. The only change you may need to make is to eat more as bub takes most of it! So double breakfast and lunch and keep your water intake high. Avoid any foods that may give you wind, as it will pass onto bub. It differs from person to person, but examples may be onions, broccoli, beans, chilli, dried fruit. Try to avoid any processed fatty foods, too much coffee, alcohol, soft / energy drinks. Healthy mum = healthy bub.
Is the 100g protein cooked or uncooked. I cook a 100g piece of steak and it ends up weighing lighter?
Weigh oats and quinoa uncooked.
